37-year-old Racine woman dies after head-on collision in Kenosha County

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 37-year-old woman from Racine was killed in a crash in Kenosha County on Monday, Jan. 27. 

According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened on the east frontage road of I-94, just south of Highway E in the Village of Somers. 

Authorities say initial reports indicate it was a head-on collision between a Kia Rio and Chevy Cobalt. 

The sheriff's department said the 37-year-old woman driving the Cobalt was not wearing her seat belt, and was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

The driver of the Rio, a 31-year-old Racine man, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released. 

No intoxicants were detected on either driver. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
