31-year-old woman fatally shot in Beloit; 34-year-old man arrested

BELOIT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 31-year-old woman is dead after being shot in Beloit on Wednesday, Jan. 26. 

The shooting happened around 12:10 p.m., near Madison Road and Ritsher Street. 

When police arrived at the scene, officers located the woman -- who is from Beloit -- suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. 

Police arrested a 34-year-old man in connection. He'll be charged with first-degree homicide, domestic violence related, and possession of a stolen firearm.
