3 people injured, suspect in custody after Muskego police pursuit and crash
MUSKEGO, WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Three people are injured and a 38-year-old suspect is in custody following a Muskego police pursuit that led to a crash during the morning of Sat. Oct. 18.
Muskego police say at around 7:47 a.m. they attempted to stop a suspect vehicle near the Kwik Trip on Janesville Road, as the vehicle had been wanted in connection with a homicide by the Milwaukee Police Department.
The driver and sole occupant refused to stop and sped westbound, before crashing into two other vehicles in the area of Janesville Road and Martin Drive.
A 51-year-old woman from Menomonee Falls sustained serious injuries in one of the vehicles and was taken to the hospital. While the driver of the third vehicle, a 58-year-old woman from Hales Corners sustained minor injuries at the scene.
Officials say the suspect fled on foot, but police later arrested the 38-year-old man from Milwaukee and took him to the hospital for injuries in the crash.
The suspect had a felony warrant for parole violations, and two firearms were recovered in his vehicle.
Wisconsin State patrol is conducting a crash reconstruction based on the request of the Muskego Police Department.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office for the suspect.
