2Nd playground shooting suspect served time for killing teen 11 years ago

MILWAUKEE, WI - The second suspect in the playground shooting of 10 year old Sierra Guyton served prison time for a deadly shooting of a minor 11 years earlier.

The 28 year old suspect was arrested recently for his role in the gun battle with another man that critically wounded little Sierra. Back in 2003, the suspect was arrested for the deadly shooting of 17 year old James Gibbs.

It apparently happened over a borrowed handgun. The suspect was convicted of 2nd degree reckless homicide in that case and he served 10 years in prison.

The man was on probation for that killing when Sierra was shot. The two shootings happened less than a block from each other and almost to the day 11 years apart.

We're not naming the suspect because he hasn't been officially charged in the playground shooting yet.

When asked about public concerns that too many violent offenders are being allowed back on the street, District Attorney John Chisolm responded this way:

\"We've got 120 prosecutors handling tens of thousands of cases and they have to prioritize the cases that pose the greatest risk and that's what we do each and every day.\"
