23-Year-Old West Bend Man Steals Mom's Car; Facing Multiple Charges Including OWI

WEST BEND - A 23-year-old West Bend man is facing multiple charges after taking his mom's car and driving under the influence.

According to the West bend Police, a 59-year-old West Bend woman reported her vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of her residence. Shortly before noon, a West Bend police officer observed the vehicle being driven in the parking lot in the 2300 block of West Washington Street. The officer stopped the vehicle and the driver was identified as the woman's adult son.

The woman did not give her son permission to take the vehicle.  

During the investigation, West Bend Police observed signs that the driver was under the influence of drugs.

The 23-year-old man failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for Operating Auto without Owner's Consent and OWI - Restricted Controlled Substance. The driver was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after he was found to have several items used for illegal drug use.
