2015 Brewers Spring training gets underway
One of the few things I know with 100% certainty is that I love my job. And I'm fortunate enough to be in Phoenix for the week, covering Brewers spring training for CBS 58 and Telemundo Wisconsin. The sound of the crack of the bat and the popping of mitts is only enhanced by the sound of locals displeased with Monday morning's conditions: cloudy and 64 degrees. They have no idea what we go through in Wisconsin this time of year!
2015's spring training carries that same air of optimism you see every year in camps. Scooter Gennett has been in Phoenix all offseason, preparing every day to be the Brewers starting second baseman. Jonathan Lucroy is recovering from the flu, so we won't see Luc for a few more days. Pitchers like Jim Henderson and Tyler Thornburg are back throwing again after extended injuries last season. Young position players like Luis Sardinas and Gerardo Parra are here several days before position players are required to report. And at some point this week, you'll see Dontrelle Willis on TV, and he WILL make you smile! Willis is a former 20-game winner who hasn't pitched in the big leagues in four years, and he's here in Phoenix for another fresh start. Aren't we all!
Look for reports all week long from Brewers spring training on CBS 58 and Telemundo Wisconsin!
