Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Nyla
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a 20-unit apartment building in Waukesha.
The fire started just after midnight Monday morning near St. Paul Avenue and Fair View. When crews arrived, flames were coming from a third-floor balcony and the roof of the apartment building. After about an hour, the fire was brought under control. The third floor and roof area has fire damage while firefighters say several other units have water damage due to firefighting operations.
Fire officials say one person was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation and there were no other civilian or responder injuries or fatalities. Several animals are being helped by a local animal shelter and the Red Cross is helping the residents displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
