2-year-old boy dies after being found unresponsive in Big Cedar Lake

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Washington County deputies say a 2-year-old boy has died after he was found unresponsive in Big Cedar Lake Thursday afternoon.

Police say first responders arrived to the 4900 block of Birchwood Rd. in West Bend around 2:05 p.m.

Lifesaving efforts were attempted on scene, but were unsuccessful and the child later died after being taken to a local hospital.

The Washington County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the cause of death. 

Officials say it is believed that the child drowned.

No further information has been released at this time.
