2 men charged with first-degree intentional homicide in Milwaukee shooting
Wisconsin Court System MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two Milwaukee men face first-degree intentional homicide charges in connection with a fatal shooting Sunday, Dec. 21, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday, Dec. 26.
Prosecutors charged 20-year-old Eduin George and 21-year-old Jose Talavera-Quezada with killing a 24-year-old near 97th and Beatrice. Milwaukee police responded to the shooting at around 3:50 a.m. and the victim died at the scene.
According to the complaint, the victim's girlfriend told police she was awakened by two masked men standing in their apartment holding guns. She recognized one as George and said they had lived with him in the past. The other man told her to get out with the children.
The masked men dragged the victim from the bed into the hallway, according to the complaint. The girlfriend heard the victim say to George, "Are you going to kill me?" Both masked men pointed their guns and simultaneously began shooting him, she told police.
Police arrested George and Talavera-Quezada on Dec. 22 during a traffic stop. A 9mm gun was found under the driver's seat, and testing concluded it was involved in the homicide, officials say. A search of Talavera-Quezada's residence found another 9mm gun connected to casings at the scene.
During an interview, George said he drove while Talavera-Quezada and a third person went inside and shot the victim, though he later admitted he touched both guns involved in the homicide.
