MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Mount Pleasant police is investigating the shooting of a 22-year-old male and 19-year-old female early Sunday morning, Sept. 28. 

According to law enforcement, officer were on foot patrol near 22nd and Mead St. when they heard several gunshots. The officers quickly located two victims and provided lifesaving aid. 

The 22-year-old male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the 19-year-old female had to be transported by Flight for Life to a Froedtert Medical Center.

She is in stable condition after undergoing surgery. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
