Nicolet High School swimmer involved in 2-vehicle collision in Ozaukee County

OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Nicolet High School student was in the car accident yesterday, Oct. 2. along W. Pioneer Rd. at N. Klug Lane. 

According to his family he will not survive. 

Grant Freeze was a star swimmer at Nicolet High School and Ozaukee Aquatics. He qualified for the World Tournament, which is happening in just a few weeks, and a National Championship this winter. 

In a beautifully written and heartbreaking post on social media, his mother says when he got his driver's license - just seven weeks ago - he chose to be an organ and tissue donor. 

She said in the social media post "we know that Grant's life is ending but his story isn't, and we will find a way to celebrate and continue Grant's legacy." 


OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Yesterday, Oct. 1, Mequon police responded to a W. Pioneer Rd. at N. Klug Lane for a two-vehicle crash involving a SUV and a dump truck around 3 p.m. 

According to law enforcement, the initial investigation shows the driver of the SUV, a 16-year-old male from Fox Point, crossed over the center line and struck a dump truck being driven by a 57-year-old man from Town of Cedarburg. 

The 16-year-old was flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 57-year-old was transported by ambulance with severe injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
