2 Arrested after Man Stabbed to Death Near Brady Street

A man who was stabbed to death early Monday morning had been trying to break up a domestic dispute when it happened, people with direct knowledge of the situation said.

Milwaukee police arrested two men in connection to the homicide that happened on North Pulaski Street - about a block away from Brady Street.

Those suspects, both male, have not yet been identified.

Just before 1 a.m. Milwaukee police got the call about the stabbing in front of Thurman's 15 - a local bar.

People with direct knowledge of what happened asking to stay anonymous said a couple was having a domestic dispute in the street when a regular customer at Thurman's 15 intervened.

That regular customer was the person stabbed. The victim and suspects knew each other, according to an MPD press release.

One woman - also asking for anonymity - said the victim was an all-around nice man.

"At one time when we had lost our maintenance man I was doing the snow shoveling and [he] went out and bought another snow shovel. And he shoveled the entire walk from the front of the bar down past the residence that we own because, he said, he loved the bar so much," she said.

Police say attempts to save the 32-year-old's life failed. His identity is being withheld pending the notification of his family.
