FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A $1 million Powerball winning ticket was sold in Fond du Lac, according to a Wisconsin Lottery press release.
The ticket was purchased at Festival Foods on 1125 E. Johnson Street for the June 5 drawing.
"Having that million-dollar Powerball is quite an excitement," said Jared Tigert with Festival Foods in Fond du Lac. "We are excited. They haven't come forward yet, but when the day does come, we'll hopefully congratulate them and celebrate them because that's a life-changing experience."
The release says the retailer previously sold a $1 million winning scratch ticket in 2020 and has sold winning tickets of $30,000 and $10,000 in the past five years.
"When Powerball keeps growing and growing, we keep seeing more sales," Tigert explained. "It's awesome to have that experience."
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a 2% Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive up to $100,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. For more information on claiming winnings, click here.
