19-year-old in custody in connection with death of infant

SHEBOYGAN, Wis.  (CBS 58) -- A 19-year-old man is in custody in connection with the death of a 5-month old child in Sheboygan.  

According to a news release from the Sheboygan Police, around 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31 medical personnel and police responded to the report of an unresponsive infant in the area of  S 11^th Street and Indiana Avenue.  

Lifesaving efforts began immediately and the child was taken to the hospital where the baby was pronounced dead.  

Sheboygan investigators determined that the child had recently suffered a head injury. 

A 19-year-old man was taken into custody as police continue to investigate the incident.
