MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An 18-year-old convicted murders will spend the next 15 years in prison.
Joshua Gilbert shot a man during a fight outside of a gas station back in 2022.
That victim survived but died two years later due to complications from his injuries.
That's when Gilbert picked up his murder charge.
The victim's family addressed the court about the pain they still feel.
"Going through this over and over again, is something I would never want anybody to go through and to the mother of the child sitting over there you have your child still. so be angry at us, because what happened is not going to make anything different.," said Tameika Lawrence the victim's mother.
Gilbert was also seriously hurt during the 2022 shooting, eventually losing his leg.
He pleaded guilty to two charges, including one count of felony count of felony murder back in December.
