17 year-old appears in court for charges involving bump and run thefts

A 17 year-old was in court today for charges involving possession of a firearm by a felon, attempted robbery, and theft by use of stolen identity.
Armanti Dowell showed little expression while he was led into the courtroom.
According to the criminal complaint released today, Dowell was allegedly involved in at least three bump and run carjacking situations. There was one in West Allis on July 19  on South 70 Street. Another occurred the same day in the 2700 block of South 79 Street. On July 12, Dowell allegedly stole a car on South 24th Street. The victim's credit cards were in the car and were later used at a Walgreen's located at 2727 West North Avenue.
Because of two prior felony convictions as a juvenile it was determined bail would be set high today.
Dowell will appear in court again on August 6 at 8:30 AM for a bail review and preliminary hearing.  In the meantime he's banned from possessing any firearms and cannot have any contact with any of the victims.
