16th Annual Fire and Police Chili Cook Off is Huge Success

The Greater Milwaukee Fire and Police Pipes and Drums is now digesting the huge success of its annual chili cook off fundraiser.

Several hundred turned out at the new location of the Knights of Columbus in West Allis.

The new location was necessary because of the popularity of the event and the need for more space to accommodate the competitors.

There were ten chili entrants competing for a trophy and bragging rights in several categories.

Winner of the Celebrity Judges Award: Mitch Gawin, Milwaukee Fire Department

Peoples Choice Awards: 1st Place: Chris Wenger and Tim Wilms, Milwaukee Fire Department
2nd Place: Sarah Byers, Milwaukee County Sheriff Department
3rd Place: Josh Morgan, Brown Deer Police Department

Proceeds from the event will help fund the various expenses that come with traveling so the band can pay proper respects to emergency responders across the region at the annual Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C.
