16-year-old student arrested for waving 'taser' around at Madison high school

MADISON, Wis. (WISC) -- Madison police officers arrested a 16-year-old student after he was reported waving a "taser" around and shouting obscenities and profanities, according to a news release from the Madison Police Department.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at West High School around 2 p.m. Wednesday. Officials said the 16-year-old boy attempted to run from officers, but was caught after a short foot-pursuit.

The teen was taken to the Juvenile Reception Center and faces charges for possession of a dangerous weapon on school premises, disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting, according to the release.

No one was injured during the incident, police said.
