16-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Shooting Near Pick n Save in Sussex

On Saturday on 5-14-2016 at approximately 3:35 pm the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Village of Pewaukee Police Department and Village of Menomonee Falls Police Department along with the Village of Sussex Fire Department responded to the area of the Bugline Trail and Pick n Save in the Village of Sussex for a report of shots fired. 

Upon arrival units located a sixteen year old male from Sussex laying in the grass on the north side of the Pick N Save parking lot with a gunshot wound. The scene was secured and EMS started life saving measures on the male subject. The subject was transported by the Sussex Fire Department to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and later transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. 

The Village of Butler Police Department, City of Wauwatosa Police Department and City of Milwaukee Police Department have been assisting in the investigation as agencies attempt to locate possible suspects. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no reason the community is in any danger at this time.

This incident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.  Further information will be released by police agencies as it becomes available.
