15 year-old accused of Armed Robbery and Stealing Mini-Van

A 15 year-old is accused of armed robbery and stealing a minivan on around 8:40 a.m. in the 5800 block of North 67th Street.

This happened on October 1.

The 15 year old suspect had the robbery victim’s property with him and is suspected to have committed a similar robbery earlier in the day. He is also the suspect in several other recent violent crimes. Two other passengers in the stolen minivan were taken into custody for questioning.

The suspect, armed with a handgun, demanded the victim’s property. After obtaining the victim’s belongings, the suspect fled in a tan minivan. A witness obtained the minivan’s license plate and it was relayed to the police. The minivan was reported as stolen earlier in the morning.

A short time later the investigating officers saw the minivan used in the robbery drive by them at a high rate of speed. The officers pursued the van which ultimately crashed into a fire hydrant. The suspect fled on foot but was arrested a short time later.
