Milwaukee embraces summer after cool, rainy spring
A 14-year-old boy has died from drowning Tuesday afternoon. The boy was swimming in a river near Washington Park Golf Course.
Racine Police responded to a report of a drowning at 3:46 p.m. When they arrived, they learned the boy was swimming in the river, went underwater, but did not resurface.
The victim was located by Rescue personnel who performed life-saving measures but were unable to save him and he was pronounced deceased.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was playing in the river where the storm sewer drains when he went under and could not resurface.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
