More than 100 people have been killed in Milwaukee so far this year.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett addressed the recent streak of violence in the city this morning.

"So many of them are situations where the people know each other and they're resolving their disputes with guns. We have a lot of unwilling witnesses, if you will, that want to take things into their own hands. too many illegal guns on the streets. So there's a wide range of factors,” said Barrett.

Other city leaders like Alderman Bob Donovan and city Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton are holding public safety meetings around Milwaukee in an effort to get input from neighbors.
