MILWUAKEE (CBS 58) -- A 13-year-old is dead following a shooting near 31st and Vliet in Milwaukee Wednesday, July 16. 

It happened around 8:10 p.m., when police say a suspect was mishandling a firearm and unintentionally shot the 13-year-old victim. 

The 13-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police said a 14-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were taken into custody.

An investigation is ongoing.
