MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Thursday, attendees had the chance to Feast for Fido. It was the 10th year for the fundraising event held at the Wisconsin Humane Society's Milwaukee campus.
"Events and donations like this are so important to the Humane Society because we don't receive any general government funding. We arent part of any national group. We are a local, independent organization and we rely entirely on donations so these nights are really important to us," said Allie Christman with the Wisconsin Humane Society.
Attendees got the chance to taste and sip entrees and desserts from more than 20 area restaurants.
CBS 58 News Kate Chappell was there as a celebrity guest judge to vote for her favorites.
Taqueria El Jefe took home best food sample and Holey Moley Doughnuts took home best presentation.
The People's Choice Award went to Blue Bat Kitchen and Tequilaria
The event raised more than $20,000 and it all stays local.
The Humane Society cares for some 40,000 animals a year.
