10-year-old honors fallen MPD officer Kendall Corder with tribute run

CUDAHY, Wis (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon wasn't the only run happening in the area on Sunday.
At the Cudahy High School stadium dozens joined a 10-year-old boy in honoring fallen Milwaukee Police Officer Kendall Corder.
"I hope that we can get more kids to help with this, and we hope that we don’t have to do many runs, but we are there if we need to," said Liam, Running 4 Heroes.
10-year-old Liam along with members of the Milwaukee Police Department and 4 nonprofit Running 4 heroes came together Sunday.
"It was incredible when Liam’s mom first called me. I know she had asked me if I had ever heard these runs and I told her I was totally followed this organization for many years since I was a younger officer, so I told her I was a little bit starstruck." Captain Erin Mejia, District 2 Police Department.

"The way we picked this location we picked us to honor Kendyll because we know that he had such an important impact on his life," said Captain Mejia.
Liam is from Chicago; he joined Running 4 Heroes back in August but since then he's run 15 races for police and first responders who paid the ultimate price.
"It’s unfair these first responders are trying to help us, and they get killed when they’re trying to help us, so I wanted to honor him by doing this run," said Liam.
In the field watching Liam run was one of Kendall Corder's closest friends.
"We met in that field, he played football crazy at football, so we met here, and we continue staying in the area and like I said we definitely became family," said Nilsa Arce, Kendall Corder's friend.
Arce says she was touched by how Liam is keeping Corder's memory alive.
"I did want to come I could meet Liam and just say thank you and I did because we appreciate it. You know all of us we appreciate it," said Arce.
After this run the flag he's carrying will be donated to the family of Kendall Corder.
