$10,000 reward offered to help find the suspect involved in deadly hit-and-run that killed 2 women
Amy Austin (left) and May Daiber (right) Family MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The family of Amy Austin, one of the victims that was killed in a hit-and-run last month, has offered a $10,000 reward for information that will lead to the suspect.
Police have been looking for a suspect since the hit-and-run on July 12, that killed Amy Austin and May Daiber near 20th and Teutonia.
Through a search warrant obtained by CBS 58, new clues were revealed about the SUV that say hit and killed Daiber and Austin. The warrant targets two people's cellphones and includes images of the SUV.
One surveillance image shows the moment just before the crash. Police are looking for a GMC Yukon, but records show it may have been using two different license plates registered to two different people int he weeks before the crash. Investigators say the SUV was later seen with a broken headlight.
“They just loved each other, just loved each other and they counted on each other, and they showed up for each other,” Amy’s sister, Debora Austin, said. “May was literally her best friend.”
The $10,000 reward is funded directly from Austin's family, with Amy’s son and a family member each contributing $5,000.
"We had all these future plans to move in there and live together and take care of my parents, and somebody took that from us, somebody took that from my family, they just took everything from me,” Austin said.
No one has been charged at this time.
