1 killed, 2 injured in Kenosha County crash, investigation underway
Kansasville Fire & Rescue Department KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person has died and two others are injured after a three-vehicle crash in the Town of Brighton Thursday, Jan. 22.
It happened around 4 p.m., according to Kansasville Fire & Rescue Department, in the 2400 block of County Highway BD.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, in a press release, say in the investigation that a Honda traveling south on County Highway BD crossed the centerline and struck a northbound Ford head-on. Moments later, a Porsche, also traveling south and unable to maneuver around the crash, struck the Honda before leaving the roadway and going into the ditch.
The driver of the Honda, a 75-year-old from Kenosha, was trapped and had life-threatening injuries. Despite rescue efforts, he died at the scene.
Both the driver of the Ford was extricated and transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert in Wauwatosa. The driver of the Porsche was transported to an area hospital. Both had non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation, but officials believe that the cause could be due to a medical emergency.
Kenosha County's MCAT team is investigating the cause of the crash.
The fire department says this was the second three-vehicle crash within about two miles of each other Thursday, and within a span of about nine hours. The other three-vehicle crash left happened just before 7 a.m. and left one driver injured.
