FOND DU LAC COUNTY (CBS 58) – One person is dead and two others hurt after two ATVs went through the ice on Lake Winnebago Monday evening.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff, they were called to the area on the lake around 9:27 p.m. for a report that three people went into the water.
A 55-year-old man, a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman all fell through the ice. The 23-year-old man was able to help the other two out of the water but the 55-year-old man was unconscious.
Despite lifesaving measures, the 55-year-old was pronounced dead. The other two were also taken to the hospital and have since been released.
The identities of those involved are not being released at this time.
Authorities warn everyone to be extra cautious around ice.
