MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau is warning car buyers to stay alert for flood-damaged vehicles appearing on the used car market.
Lisa Schiller, senior director of investigations and media relations, joined us on Monday, Oct. 6 to share tips on how to spot warning signs before making a purchase.
One tip is to ask to see the vehicle title, checking where the car came from and being cautious of titles marked "salvage." Buyers should also examine the dashboard, test electronics and inspect carpets and upholstery for signs of moisture, rust or mildew.
She recommends researching the dealer at BBB.org, ordering a vehicle history report and having the car professionally inspected before finalizing the sale.
