Will Your Package Make it Before Santa?

Monday-the biggest shipping day of the year. But if you didn't make it, will your stuff still get where it belongs on time? 

"Our first deadline is the 15th for ground packages," said Rodney Owens, customer relations representative for the United States Postal Service. 

He says for all those last minute package-shippers, time is running out.

"For any first class packages we ask that you get them in by the 20th. We do have priority mail and we ask that you try to do that by the 21st," he said. 

But if you're willing to spend extra money there are some express options. 

You can ship your packages, next day from the postal service, UPS, Fedex as late as December 23rd. 

"Our overnight express, even though its overnight we ask that you do that by the 23rd of December," said Owens.

 
A delivery date that USPS guarantees. 

If you're really in a rush Amazon might be the way to go, offering next day shipping and for millions of items in our area you can order on Christmas Eve and get it the same day.

They also offer safe locker locations where you can pick up a package by simply entering in a code. 

UPS offers something similar, and the post office provides ther own safety measures. 

"They can give an alternate address or request that we leave a slip.We don't leave the package if the customer isn't home," said Owens.

 
With thousands of packages filtering through the Milwaukee area these shipping providers say they're working overtime to make sure the packages get to you before even Santa does. 

"We're making sure we have adequate staffing, also we are starting at 6 AM, we go all the way to 6:00 at night making sure the packages are delivered," said Owens.
