We Need the Rain....More Storms Expected
Summer is heating up all across the area. Today was the eleventh day in a row with a temperature of at least 80 degrees, and it looks like that streak will carry us through the next several days. Unfortunately, along with the heat, we haven't had a lot of substantial rainfall for the month of July.
There have been some thunderstorm chances, but overall we're still over an inch below average for the month. The other number of note is MKE is over five inches below for the year.
July is one of our wettest months behind June and August. We typically see 3.67\" for the month. Summer months are a time to play catch up with overnight complexes of showers and storms. So far this summer we haven't had the push for storms, and that's hurt the overall numbers.
We do have a chance for showers and storms for late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning ahead of a front; however, we're not expecting more than probably a quarter or a half an inch of rainfall.
