MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – As Milwaukee Armed Forces Week wraps up this weekend, we highlight the award given to a Vietnam veteran from Waukesha County for not only service to his country, but for the men, women and especially children he rescued from their war-torn country 46 years ago.
Howard Hadley is the 2021 Lance Sijan Award winner. In 1975, Howard flew missions for “Operation Babylift” out of Vietnam to save orphan children.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Michael Schlesinger met Hadley and witnessed an emotional reunion related to his service.
