HARTLAND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Families will have the chance to lace up their skates Sunday afternoon and skate with the man in red as a part of the Skating with Santa event being hosted at the Mullett Ice Center in Hartland.

The event starts at 2 p.m. with families able to enjoy games, a hot chocolate bar and cookie decorating. There will also be a Peanuts-themed parade.

From 3 until 4:15 p.m. there will be an open skate with Santa. Skate rentals are being donated by the Mullett Ice Center and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Families that have their own skates are encouraged to bring them.

A kid's all-inclusive ticket costs $35 and includes access to all of the winter activities, the hot cocoa bar, a photo with Santa, skating and a goody bag. For those not looking to skate, an outdoor ticket can be purchased for $20 and includes access to all the winter activities, the hot cocoa bar, a photo with Santa and cookie decorating.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, helping make more wishes come true for children battling life-threatening illnesses.

"The last two years have been incredibly difficult, specifically for Make-A-Wish kids. A lot of wishes have been put on hold and Make-A-Wish Wisconsin actually has its largest backlog ever," explained Allie Jorgensen, Young Wishmakers of Wisconsin event organizer. "Every single dollar that we bring in today is going to go directly to granting those wishes for our wish kids that have been anxiously awaiting their wishes to be granted."

An adult general admission ticket for adults 18+ that are accompanying children is $10.
