Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days Kicks off at City Hall with Jazzercise

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has his own plans for healthy living.

The mayor kicked off his annual "Walk 100 miles in 100 days" Challenge at City Hall.

City hall employees joined in on the fun with a little warm-up Jazzercize.

The plan is to encourage Milwaukee residents to stay active by participating in community walks with fellow residents.

"For me its all about getting out into the city in every neighborhood. So if you have a neighborhood organization or a group that wants to take a walk im there.  I love doing this it's a perfect excuse not to do work at home for me,” Mayor Barrett said.

More than 70% of Milwaukeeans report being overweight and less than half of Milwaukee residents report getting recommended physical activity on a regular basis.
