Wagfest returns to benefit Elmbrook Humane Society on Sept. 11 đŸŸ

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Elmbrook Humane Society's popular Wagfest will return for an in-person event in 2021. This, after shifting to a virtual format in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The community throughout southeast Wisconsin is encouraged to bring their dogs to Brookfield's Mitchell Park -- located at 19900 River Road -- on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is FREE.

The day-long festival includes food, live music from The Bar Downs, shopping, several different raffles and of course, activities for dogs. EBHS is also seeking its King or Queen of Wagfest for 2021. To learn more about how to enter your pet into the contest, CLICK HERE.

Proceeds from the EBHS merchandise tent and raffles will go directly to EBHS operational costs and organization's mission to serve animals and people in the community.

It's the 14th consecutive year for the event. Sanitary stations will be available throughout the event grounds, and vendors and staff will follow distancing guidelines and handwashing practices.

“We’re so excited to be back in-person at Mitchell Park and can’t wait to welcome people and pups back to Wagfest this year,” said Heather Gehrke, Executive Director at EBHS. “This is far and away our most popular event every year, drawing as many as 7,000 people and their dogs. Being able to come back to an in-person format really brings the magic back to the event and gives us a chance to host a wonderful day in the park for our supporters and the community at large. With free admission, there’s no reason not to attend!”
