UPAF's "Ride for The Arts": Where Art & Athletics Come Together
This Sunday, at least five thousand bikers will pedal their way along the Milwaukee lakefront for the 35th anniversary of UPAF's "Ride for The Arts." It's an opportunity to both raise your heart rate and bring in donations to help the art community in southeastern Wisconsin.
There are four different routes you can ride, including a 10-mile stretch for families. You can bike as far as 70 miles as well. During Wednesday's morning show, I stopped by "Wheel and Sprocket" in Fox Point to get some advice about how to get my bike and myself ready for the challenge. I learned it's crucial to have your bike tuned up and ready to go. Also, it's important to make sure you're wearing the right size helmet.
If you pledge at least $1750, you can win a free "Wheel and Sprocket" bike in time for annual fundraiser. There's still time to register. Just click on the attached link for more information. Also, for another year, CBS58 is a proud TV partner of the event. Both anchors Michele McCormack and Bill Walsh will be on hand. So make sure to say hello.
