Downtown drivers should prepare to see orange barrels on Water Street between Clybourn Street and St. Paul Avenue as construction crews start a three-day project.

The northbound lanes of Water Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday with two-way traffic moving to the southbound lanes.

The northbound lanes will close again Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Crews will switch sides at noon, closing the southbound lanes until 3 p.m. as drivers use the northbound lanes for two-way traffic.

The southbound lanes will close again Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and two-way traffic will use the northbound lanes.

The weather dependent project is expected to wrap up Thursday.
