(CBS 58) – A study by Consumer Reports found unsafe levels of arsenic in six bottled water brands.
According to the study, concerning levels were found in Starkey Water owned by Whole Foods, Penafiel owned by Keurig Dr.Pepper and Crystal Geyser Alpine Spring Water.
After the results were released, Keurig Dr. Pepper stopped production for two weeks to improve filtration.
Whole Foods says its products are fully compliant with FDA standards. Consumer Reports says it believes the FDA should tighten its regulations.
More information on the study can be found on Consumer Reports website.
