Sheriff's Office Attends Anniversary of Alexis Patterson's Disappearance Event

The search for Alexis Patterson is happening on the anniversary of a missing persons case that shocked the community and captured nationwide attention in 2002.

It was 14 years ago today that a 7-year-old Milwaukee girl vanished on her way to school.

Alexis Patterson is still missing, but she's by no means forgotten.

The entire ceremony lasted only a few minutes but it was emotional.

The sheriff was joined by members of his department and two pastors today.

They quietly laid the wreath and had a moment of quiet prayer.

Alexis's mom tried to speak but was so overwhelm by emotion, she couldn't. She was consoled by friends and family and sat quietly.

But Alexis's aunt did want to give a message to her missing niece.

Sheriff’s office provided a photo of what investigators believe Alexis would look like now.

There is a $10,000 reward out for information that can help solve this case. Anyone with tips is asked to call the sheriff's office.
