Racine man released from jail days earlier charged after allegedly looking into woman's bedroom

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) – A Racine man is facing several charges after police say he was looking into a woman’s bedroom window and ran from investigators.

Yahweh Dubose, 34, is charged with invasion of privacy, felony bail jumping, and obstructing an officer.

According to a criminal complaint, police were called to a woman’s home in Racine on March 27 around 6:15 a.m. for a report of a suspicious person. Police say the woman had called police multiple times for similar problems going back to October 2017. She told officers during one of the previous calls that she would yell at the person and he would run away before police got there. The responding officer told the woman to call police in the future and not yell at the suspect so they could catch him.

When officers arrived, they say they found Dubose standing on an upside-down bucket looking into the woman’s bedroom window. Police say Dubose had his hands around his eyes in an attempt to see better into the woman’s room.

An officer asked Dubose what he was doing, catching him by surprise. The complaint says Dubose took off running before he was later apprehended by another nearby officer. Police say Dubose then lied to them, telling them he thought the home had been vacant and was looking for a place to live. Dubose also told police he had just been released from jail.

The woman told police they did not know Dubose and did not give consent for his trespassing/invasion of privacy.

Police say Dubose had been released from jail on March 23, 2018, after having been arrested on drug charges.
