Mount Pleasant Store Clerk Arrested For WIC Fraud

MOUNT PLEASANT - Narinder Singh, a clerk at Baja’s Supermarket located near 21st and Mead, was taken into custody for WIC fraud.
It happened Thursday, August 25th.
An investigation by the WIC compliance inspector revealed Singh had been defrauding the WIC benefit program by exchanging money and other unapproved items for WIC benefits.
WIC, is a nutrition program for women, infants and children, allows pregnant women and new mothers to buy healthy foods and formula for their children.
Singh was transported to the Racine County Jail and is facing charges.
