Mother and Father in Racine Charged with Selling Drugs Near Elementary School
A mother and father in Racine are accused of selling narcotics near Fratt Elementary School.
Ami Alvarado-Archambeau and Jose Alvarado-Vargas are charged in regards to the incidents.
Ami is charged with two counts of selling near a school.
Both the husband and wife are charged with four counts of second degree recklessly endangering safety.
The couple has a 4-year-old, 6-year-old, 9-year-old, and 14-year-old living in home.
Undercover agents purchased oxycontin from the couple near the elementary school on two separate occasions.
The wife allegedly told undercover officers that her husband had back surgery. At the time he was prescribed 240 Oxycontin 80mgs and 240 Oxycontin 30 mgs per month.
She allegedly told police she makes $500 every two weeks for caring for her husband, and he earns $934 for being on social security.
They received $99 a month per child for their four children.
Neither have official jobs.
Inside their home officers allegedly found pills and marijuana in dresser drawers that children could easily access. In addition, investigators located 19.8 grams of THC, a grinder and pipe for smoking.
There was, also, $1,315 in cash located in the home.
