Monroe strong in Milwaukee debut, but Bucks lose opener

Greg Monroe scored 22 points and added 14 rebounds in his first regular season game as a Milwaukee Buck, but the New York Knicks still beat the Bucks 122-97 in the season opener for both teams Wednesday night.

The Bucks played their first game of the season at home for the first time since the 1984-85 campaign. Michael Carter-Williams scored 20 for the Bucks, while Greivis Vasquez added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Bucks, playing without Jabari Parker (injury) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (1-game suspension), were outscored in every quarter of Wednesday's game. Milwaukee hosts Washington Friday night.
