MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Drinks have been flowing for more than half a century at this Milwaukee staple -- "This Is It!," off of Wells Street near Cathedral Square, celebrated its 54th birthday Thursday.
This Is It! is not only Milwaukee's longest-running LGBTQ+ bar, but it's the oldest in Wisconsin and one of the oldest in the country.
General Manager Darnell Watson says it's an honor to work in the iconic bar.
"Every time I walk in I feel like I'm walking into a piece of history, a piece of our core history in the city, and it's something that here, at This Is It!, we really want to remember, we we come from, all the way from 1968. We keep the same color wood, the same lighting fixtures and the same kind of feeling that you get that you would've walked in 20, 30 years ago," said Watson.
If you want to check it out for yourself, This is It is open every day from 3 p.m. until around 2 a.m.
