MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee REP is getting ready for the group's first sensory-friendly performance. Their upcoming February show of "Much Ado About Nothing," will have accommodations for those with sensory issues.
Milwaukee REP will have lower sound levels, low house lights will remain on during the show, patrons can talk and leave their seats during the performance, and there will be designed quiet spaces inside the building.
Thursday, Jan. 19, CBS 58 saw how the theater space will transform to accommodate everyone.
"Theater is an all-sensory performance. There are a lot of people who may be sensitive to lights, sounds, to a lot of movement. We're creating a sensory-friendly environment in which we might modify lights, sounds, movement. We're really excited to provide this opportunity," said Jenny Toutan, chief education and engagement officer for Milwaukee REP.
Milwaukee REP is also offering closed captioning and ASL. Milwaukee REP's sensory-friendly performance of "Much Ado About Nothing" will be held Feb. 7. If you'd like to purchase tickets, CLICK HERE.
