MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police say the shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. near 4th and State Street outside the Journal Sentinel building in downtown Milwaukee.

A 30-year old man who was washing windows outside of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel building was shot and suffered a serious injury.

The shooting suspect is an occupant of a passing vehicle.

The investigation has initially revealed that another car was the intended target of the shooting and not the employee or the Journal Sentinel Building.

Police are looking for the shooting suspect and the car.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police have confirmed a shooting outside the Journal Sentinel building. 

The building is located in the 300 block of W. State Street in downtown Milwaukee. Police have confirmed at least one person was shot and the fire department says that person was taken to Froedtert Hospital.

The man who was shot was a 30-year-old window washer who was shot in the chest and then ran into the building to get medical attention. The man works for Al's Window Cleaning.

Marquette University Police issued a safety alert. They say the vehicle was a blue Infiniti with tinted windows that fired the shots.

Employees report hearing around four shots. A large window was shattered.

Journal Sentinel employees began tweeting after the incident.
