MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new partnership between the Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Public Schools is looking to provide more support to mentoring organization across the region.
MENTOR Greater Milwaukee starts with the goal of creating 1000 new mentors by the end of 2020.
"This can change lives. This will change lives," said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D). "I think that the more we can add to the enthusiasm to having mentors in our cities the more powerful this can be."
Milwaukee is the 25th affiliate to join the National Mentoring Partnership. The foundation began with former President Barack Obama's My Father's Keeper Initiative.
