MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Art Museum and Kohl's are holding a Dia De Los Muertos event.
Families are invited to celebrate the traditional Mexican holiday by creating an altar in memory of someone special who has passed away.
Participants will also explore the colors and symbols of Day of the Dead through art activities like making paper flowers and skeleton paintings.
"Everyone has someone they care about, everyone's lost someone," said Emily Sullivan. "It's a great time to just come together and remember special times, learn something new and also enjoy culture, enjoy music and dance."
The event is from 10 a.m-4 p.m. this Sunday at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
The projects will be displayed on the actual Day of the Dead, Nov. 2, throughout the day.
