I-94 closure could affect Festa Italiana and Zoo visitors

If you're headed out next weekend don't forget to pack your patience. We've told you about the full freeway closure of I-94, but now we're hearing from those who worry it might mean less visitors to a popular local destination.

I-94 will be closed between Highway 100 and the Zoo Interchange next weekend.

The zoo will be impacted by the closure because it sits on Bluemound Road, which is one of the routes drivers will be forced to take next weekend.



\"We went through it somewhat last summer when they were redoing Highway 100 and Bluemound and they completely close that intersection for awhile, so we know what that's like,\" said Zoo Director Chuck Wikenhauser.

He's used to it, but Gina Spang is not.

\"it's a bit of an interruption for Festa Italiana, but we are hoping that people just plan ahead,\" said Spang with Festa Italiana.
