MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We heard the sports world react to LeRoy Butler finally getting the Hall of Fame nod Thursday night.
Now, his loved ones are weighing in.
Julia Witherspoon is Butler's godmother.
"It's like my heart froze. It just stopped. Like oh, thank you Lord!" Witherspoon said.
She was watching last night as the news was announced.
She says she talked to him this morning -- and after a few years of not getting in -- this time, it's that much sweeter.
"He's still up in the air, though. His feet are not on the ground. He's walking around but he's not walking around with you and I. He's kind of off the ground a little bit," she laughed.
Witherspoon is also a former Racine police officer and educator who founded The Cops 'N Kids Reading Center.
She says Butler has given so much back to her organization and others. Showing he's not just a Hall of Fame football player -- but a Hall of Fame person, too.
